The Process


Once a Certified Member retires from his or her professional field, the option to switch to our Retired Membership program becomes available. The process requires a simple update to a member's database entry (performed by ACFS staff). No new application or fee is required and Retired Members receive a rate reduction on their annual dues.


Tips and Important Details


  • Members who have recently retired may contact our staff to make the switch Retired Membership.

  • Retired Members may continue to acquire CPE to retain the CFS designation; however, they are not required to maintain their certified status or Annual CPE Requirement.

ACFS is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA), as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.
